These men, women and youth carry out their baptismal call by filling the liturgy with song. Through their ministry, these participants take a more active part in the liturgical life of the parish and share in the work of the Prayer & Worship committee.
Adult Choir & Instrumental Musicians – The group of both singers an instrumentalists includes, women, men, and youth who lend musical enhancement to the liturgy. Membership is open to high school students and adults who have a love of music. Younger persons with specific talent are also welcome. Specific requests should be made to the Music Director. This choir usually sings at the 9:30 a.m. Mass every Sunday from Labor Day until Memorial Day
and at the 7:00 p.m. Mass on Holy Days. Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings at 7:00 pm in the church. If you are interested in joining, come to a practice. Participation by seasonal or special event is also encouraged.
Cantors – Cantors are those singers who lead the congregation in song, especially during the Saturday 5:00 p.m. Mass. Qualifications are a love of singing and the ability to carry a tune. The ability to read music is helpful. Cantors may attend Tuesday evening choir rehearsals or meet at 4:30 p.m on Saturdays for warm-up.
Intergenerational Choir -The members of this choir lend their voices in song during the Christmas and Easter morning masses and occasionally at other times. Practices are from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday mornings, 4 to 6 weeks prior to Christmas and Easter. Adults and youth members, age 5 thru Grade 12, may participate.
Instrumentalists are also welcome.
